Shine contributes to Porirua Plan

Shine is a collective impact process with the vision that children and young people in Porirua will shine. This priority is now firmly stated in the draft Long Term Plan for the city which proposes we have children and young people at the centre of our city decisions.

Participants in the Shine process strongly support this priority. Shine is a group of education stakeholders working together under the Collective Impact model to help Porirua youth to shine (not an organisation as is implied in the consultation document). Shine is focused on educational opportunities and outcomes but of course shares an interest in the other community outcomes listed under the same priority. Welcome to the Shine Porirua website

In a sense Shine was launched at the Shine Summit Day on 14 June 2013. But an even more public launch took place with the exciting establishment of this website.

We are developing the site as not just a place for static information, but somewhere anyone can explore to learn what’s happening in Shine Porirua, and to participate in the discussions. In other words, it’s an interactive place and one where your input is welcome.

A feature of the website is that it is a participant in the Our Porirua Online Community. That means some of the content is shared into that community to be seen in many other online places, and there will be some content generated in other websites that will be displayed here.
