‘Twenty-First Century Learning’
21st century Education is the phrase adopted by the Porirua City Council to open up discussion on the future of formal education for children and young people living in Porirua.
In December 2015 the Council adopted a position paper that included the following statement:
'If education continues to be delivered the way it is currently, we are unlikely to meet our aspiration for all young people to achieve their full potential academically. We need a more flexible approach to delivery, recognising the diversity of learning approaches and the need to cater for 21st century learning and teaching practices that reflect the highly-dynamic, rapidly changing nature of education technologies'
Consequently, we have adopted 'Twenty-First Century Learning' as a heading for general contributions to achieving our aspirations for children and young people.
